In
an effort to foster increased vocations to the priesthood
and religious life through daily prayer, the Christ the King
Vocations Committee has instituted the Vocations Chalice
program.
During one Mass of each weekend, an individual or family
will accept the responsibility of praying for vocations.
Prayers are provided, as well as a special chalice to use as
a reminder and focal point. The chalice and prayers are
returned to the Church Office by the following Friday so
that they may then be provided to another family.
If you would like to participate in this effort to pray for
vocations, please
sign up below or contact Conrad or Mary Battreal at
225-6814 with questions. |

Prayer
for Vocations
Lord God of love,
as a church and as a family dedicated to You,
We humbly pray that you touch the hearts of our young people
to hear the sound of your Son's voice, "Come and follow me."
Confident in Your love for the Church,
We pray that their minds and hearts will be open to be
watchful and alert,
To hear when they are called, and to respond with courage
and trust.
Bless those You have already called to the single way of
life.
Confirm again those who have entered into the communal state
of marriage.
Consecrate daily those who have promised their lives in
poverty, chastity and obedience.
Before this Chalice, a symbol of your Son's living Body and
Blood,
We pray to You: Raise up young men to the Altar to be
your servants and our priests.
If it be your holy will, touch our own family with a
vocation to the Altar.
May our children and grandchildren respond generously to
that call.
We make this prayer through Christ our High Priest.
Amen |
