How to Pray the Rosary

While holding the Crucifix, make the Sign of the Cross, then say the "Apostle's Creed."

  • For the next three beads, say three "Hail Marys"

  • On the next bead, say one "Glory be to the Father."

  • Announce and meditate on the first mystery and say   "Our Father."

  • Say ten "Hail Marys" and one "Glory be to the Father."

  • On the bead between each decade, say

  • Announce and meditate on the second mystery and its meaning, say "Our Father."

  • Continue the same way until each of the mysteries or decades are said.

  • The last prayer is "Hail, Holy Queen," while holding the medal in the center.

  • Finish with the "Sign of the Cross."

 


  Joyful Mysteries May be said on Mondays and Thursdays (also Sundays from beginning of Advent until Lent)
  Luminous Mysteries May be said on Thursdays (also Sundays from beginning of Advent until Lent)
  Glorious Mysteries May be said on Wednesdays and Saturdays (also Sundays from Easter until Advent)
  Sorrowful Mysteries May be said on Tuesdays and Fridays (also Sundays during Lent)
