Virgin Mary         

Catholics have always had a special devotion to the Virgin Mary. Mary was born without original sin so that she could carry and give birth to Jesus, the son of God.  Mary remained without sin throughout her life.

Mary was chosen by God, to give birth to his son.  As the mother of Jesus, Mary should hold a special place in our hearts.  So great is her love for her son.  So great is the love between a mother and her son.

We as humans may ask a friend to pray for us in our hour of need.  As Catholics, we also ask Mary to pray for us, aid us in our hour of need.  As mother of Jesus, we ask her to intercede to God on our behalf.  

Please read the following 'Hail Mary'; read the passages in the bible and understand why the Virgin Mary is so special.
  

HAIL MARY

Hail Mary, full of grace!
The Lord is with you;  (Luke 1:28)

Blessed art thou among women;
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. (Luke 1:42)

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
